Semi-automatic
Process Plant
Semi-Automation is a process or procedure that is performed by the combined activities of man and machine with both human and machine steps typically orchestrated by a centralised plc controller.
For smaller manufacturers or those whose workflow or product mix changes frequently, fully automated systems may not be feasible due to high upfront costs, lack of training resources, or even limited physical space.
With semi-automated systems, customers can realise many of the benefits of fully automated systems without a significant investment in time and resources.
Benefits of semi-automation:
- reduced labour
- increased efficiency
- flexible process
- still rely on the skill and the intellect of the operator
- reduce chemical exposure to the operator by keeping them away from the process
- out of parameter alarms
- process trending.
